$16 million investment in Schools in the Aspley Electorate

In the 2024-25 budget I was able to secure funding for several crucial local school upgrades:

✏️ $1 million in school enhancement funding for Craigslea State High School in addition to planning for a new building to accommodate replacement learning spaces including music, drama, and marine science labs

✏️ Aspley Special School tuckshop refurbishment as part of the Miles Government’s Playgrounds and Tuckshops Upgrade Fund

✏️ Funding for Zillmere and Craigslea State Schools to run breakfast programs and begin major tuckshop refurbishments

In 2023, I also managed to secure a $16 million share of the Palaszczuk Government's $220 million school works program, which has delivered some fantastic upgrades to our local schools. On top of that, I secured $3.4m in school infrastructure investment for the Aspley electorate in the 2023-24 Queensland State Budget.

The projects in the Aspley Electorate include:

🔧 Aspley State School - $400,000 to refurbish classrooms and build a safe and modern outdoor learning area
🔧 Bald Hills State School - $300 000 to refurbish amenities
🔧 Craigslea State School - $1.48m for brand new accessible amenities and to refurbish the Administration Block
🔧 Geebung Special School - $200,000 to refurbish their early childhood development precinct
🔧 Zillmere State School - $1.16m for new drop off and pickup zone and upgraded tuckshop infrastructure
🔧 Aspley State High School - $14.5m for a brand new performing arts centre and sports hall
🔧 An additional $1.06m for maintenance and minor works across schools in the Aspley Electorate
